Savannah did it yesterday! She broke 3lbs! She weighed in at 3lbs 1oz. Tonight she weighed in at 3lbs 2oz .3 more ozs and she will be at Baby Kevin's birth weight. She is currently at 24mls of milk- getting closer to 1oz. She had one brady event today and is doing some shallow breathing which results in some desating (lower oxygen saturation levels). She is still at 3 liters of oxygen on the high flow nasal cannula. Other than the one brady and minor refluxing, she had a good day.
We did get do some practice nursing- she lasted for about 5 minutes before she tired out and called it quits so I switched to Kangaroo care. I held her for less than hour today :( She started to reflux which caused her to desat while I was holding her so the nurse had to cut the kangaroo session short. Our picture taking was very limited because I was concerned about her refluxing so I forgot to take pictures.
Thank you for continuing to pray for Savannah. Please pray for her friend. They found a 1 inch by 1 inch cyst in her liver. The surgeon says it can't be effectively drained so she will need another surgery. I don't think the surgery has been scheduled yet. Anyways please pray for her and for her mom.
Sleeping is what she does best- which is exactly what she needs to be doing so she can grow.
