Yes, Savannah is a magician. She managed to pull out her feeding tube and her nurse and I have no idea how she did it without us seeing her. The nurse handed her to me with the feeding tube in. The nurse and I were taking her temperature, got her positioned for breast feeding, and then it came time to connect the feeding tube and it could not be found. The nurse and I looked everywhere for it and couldn't find it. She was always with one of us and she did not get returned to her isolette so we were very confused. She managed to completely get it off her face- the tape and the tube! We gave up the search and the nurse got her a new one. We found the old one 15 minutes later. It was on the floor. I have no idea how or when she did that.
She is now 3lbs 11ozs! Yes that's right!! She gained 2 ozs in one day. I had the nurse repeat herself twice because I thought I had heard her wrong :) She remains at 28mls of milk and at 2 liters of oxygen on the nasal cannula. She is working towards eating without a feeding tube. She did about a total of 5 minutes of active sucking (it was off and on- so not consecutive) and then tired out so the rest was fed via the feeding tube. But that is a huge improvement from yesterday.
Baby Kevin decided that today was the day to see his sister. He heard that was not allowed in the nicu so he decided that he needed a good disguise for this adventure. The plan did not work but it did get him some attention from Savannah's nurses. Today when I walked out the nicu doors, he was waiting around the corner with his grandma. I started laughing right away! I turned around and walked back into the nicu to get one of my favorite nurses and the unit secretary. They both were very entertained with Baby Kevin. He put on a little show for them.
Thank you for continuing to pray for Savannah and her friend.
Well here are the pictures from today. I'm off to work on Christmas cards.
Savannah- with her little hand on my chest
Savannah with her pink headband. This blanket is special because Oma made it.
Aww shucks! They saw straight through my disguise. Plan failed! I'll try again tomorrow.

This isn't the last of me ladies.(compliments of Auntie Ashley- the stylist). Pretty funny, right?
