Peekaboo

Good news is that she does not have RSV. Not so great news- she probably has a cold. They did an xray and tested her for the flu and rsv. The RSV test came back negative. The results are pending for the other tests. She is very congested and is coughing at times. They are having to suction her periodically because she is so congested. She also has a mild diaper rash. She is breathing fast again. I was not able to breastfed her because she was breathing too fast.
She is still at 2.5 liters of oxygen on the nasal cannula. She did gain weight. She now weighs 4lbs 7.9 oz. Her Oma got to hold her today for the first time. I missed being there for it because I had to be in the waiting room with Baby Kevin. Baby Kevin who was very happy to see me and enjoyed his time playing another older sibling of a preemie who is in the nicu.
I hate not being at the nicu when she is sick. She does so much better when I hold her. I held her today and also immediately she stopped desating and her heart rate and breathing stabilized. She snuggled against me and her monitor stopped beeping. I do find comfort in the fact that she has a really great nurse tonight! He- yes it's a male nurse :)- is really good at his job. Most nurses when I call are in a hurry to be off the phone. Nurse Jeff however talks for 5 to 7
minutes without me even asking any questions. He is very detailed and takes the time to update me on her.
Please pray for Savannah to recover from whatever is causing the congestion. Please also pray that our family will continue to be healthy. The flu is going around so I'm worried that I'll get sick. Thank you for praying for Savannah and her nicu friends.
Here are pictures from today.
All swaddled up
First time being held by Oma

I hope she gets better soon!
