Savannah is doing great. She breastfed this morning for about 8 minutes! Then Daddy held her while I changed out her bed. I prefer not see her in hospital gear so I do my best to make sure she has all of her own stuff. I wiped down her crib and made it "Savannah's crib" again. This afternoon, Oma, Baby Kevin and I went to shopping for some new year gear for Savannah. We ended up buying 4 tiaras for Savannah and her friends. Well 3 tiaras and 1 crown- Baby N does not wear tiaras :) We also bought a hat for Baby Kevin. He paraded around the store, waving at everyone who would pay attention to him.
Savannah is still at 42 mls of milk. She continues to breathe on her own! Her oxygen saturation levels around 90-100%. 100% of course is ideal- She's getting there. She weighs 5lbs 5.7oz. She looks so good. Just one more tube (the feeding tube) to get rid off. They are currently not attempting any feeds by bottle until her breathing is stellar.
We will be welcoming 2011 at home. Baby Kevin and Kevin are both already sleeping :) Oh well. Nurse Ashley promised to blow Savannah a kiss from us at midnight.
Thank you for praying for Savannah and her friends! We wish you all a very Happy New Year. May God bless you and your families. Looking forward to the many exciting changes and adventures that 2011 will bring.
Here are the pictures from today.
I went back to the NICU just to pass out the tiaras and the crown and to take a picture of her with the tiara. She was not too amused. She was awake for about an hour this morning. She slept for the rest of the day. She did not want to be disturbed.
