27 weeks/Kevin's Fun Facts

- Kevin is taking after me in that he gets a schedule and sticks to it. Thanks to the cooler weather I've been playing in the front yard with him when we get home after work. Some days we even eat dinner outside so he can have some fun before bedtime. Well I made the mistake on Thursday of attempting to take him straight from the car to the house. He was not happy and did not understand why I was skipping outdoor time. Sorry baby! I was just trying to unload the car first :) He calmed down once he realized that the plan wasn't changing. He loves being outside.

-He made Oma's day on Tuesday by finally giving her a kiss. He is very affectionate with kids but not so much with adults. Oma said it made her day.

- I woke up on wednesday morning (around 2 am) to him screaming. I didn't understand why. Well turns out he managed to get his leg stuck in the crib railing. Poor baby! Hopefully this weekend, we'll make the transition from the crib to the big boy bed. I think he is ready.

-Ashley taught him to throw the ball and say "boom". Yeah I'm not sure why she taught him this but he loves his aunt. Sooo he is now throwing balls followed by a "boom" sound effect.

- so much for all math and science (per daddy Kevin), Baby Kevin is already interested in the video games. Although it maybe just because he wants to copy daddy, and not much the video game part. Anyways it was cute to watch him "play" with his remote. He thought he was doing something and was very animated!

I almost did not post this because of the background. I was doing laundry while they were playing. Soo please excuse the background. He climbs on this bench so he can play with Daddy.
Yeah, I'll show you complete domination! I win.
I love playing games with Daddy

Pregnancy: 27 weeks

Weight Gain: Major change compared to the rate of weight I had been gaining. I gained 7lbs in 2 weeks. Dr thinks it’s mostly water retention due to the swelling. They’re continuing to monitor me closely.

Sleep: hit or miss. Sleeping on my side seems to help. I’ve been having weird vivid dreams- lol who knows what that is all about?

Gender: GIRL!!

Name: Savannah---middle name is still undecided. Although I haven’t been trying too hard to narrow it down to just one.

Feeling: grateful- I’ve been reminded of other friends who desire to have a baby and are wrestling with IF treatments or adoption. I’m thankful that God is blessing us with another child. I am holding on the fact that God doesn’t make mistakes. Even though I question my ability to juggle two kids and find a good balance, I know that God has everything in control. anxious- I am trying to find that balance between peace and panicking about every single heartburn, headache etc. Knowing when to slow down and when to call the doctor and when I just need to lie down and take a break.

Cravings: I haven’t been indulging the cravings too much- but for this week- it has been good lemonade (yes there is a difference- I prefer Chickfila or this local Mexican restuarant) and avocadoes.

Struggles/Limitations: Due to the swelling, I’ve been trying to stay off my feet as much as possible. My skin feels stretched to the max. I keep sitting down and attempting to cross my legs and then I’m reminded that I can’t cross my legs. It's getting harder to bathe Kevin so Daddy has been having to help me that on the nights that he is home. It's also harder to place him gently in the crib. Sometimes it's like he's getting "dropped" for the last 4 inches because my tummy gets in the way. I've taken to rolling him off the blanket so it's not a rough drop.

Health (Savannah/Mine): Savannah’s- no major updates since the last one. She’s moving around a lot! Her heart rate is measuring around 140. I passed the glucose test so I do NOT have gestational diabetes. My BP is still at a good rate, but it is up a little from what is normal for me. I had to buy new shoes because my swollen feet no longer fit any of my regular shoes. I’ve also been having a lot of heartburn. Overall, I would say things are still going good, but they could be better. Thank for you continuing to pray for us!

Movement: Very, very active! yep- she’s moving all over the place. She “kicked” her brother this week. I am sure he doesn’t understand what happened but he definitely felt it.

Belly: yep- it’s there for sure. Some people tell me I look really pregnant and some say I look small for 27 weeks....who knows?

Current Medications: prenatal vitamins and a daily low dose aspirin (81 mg)

Next Appointment: Monday with MFM (specialist). This one is for the ultrasound and other testing. I should have more Savannah pictures to share. Hopefully some good 3d pics.
