Tomorrow is Eye Exam Day

Please pray for tomorrow. He has an eye exam in the afternoon. If you have been reading earlier posts, you know that he did not respond well to the previous eye exams. Pray that he will not have a negative reaction and that his eyes will be perfect. Some of you have asked about the series of eye exams. They continuely check his eyes until they are fully developed because he at at risk for ROP. (Retinopathy of Prematurity- Scars and abnormal growth of the blood vessels in the retina, the layer of cells in the back of the eye. The retina does not mature until close to term (40 weeks gestation), so when babies are born very prematurely, the normal growth of blood vessels into the retina is altered. These abnormally growing vessels can eventually lead to disruption of the retina and the loss of eye function. Routine exams for ROP will be given to premature infants at risk starting at about the 5th or 6th week after birth. If severe ROP develops, there are treatments that can reduce or prevent the loss of vision.) Thankfully the previous eye exams have not showed any signs of ROP- just prematurity.

We had a great Father's Day. We of course just stayed at home. Baby Kevin picked some cute Father's Day cards :-)

Well here are some pictures :-) Because that is what everyone wants :-) Thank you for praying for us. I will let you know how tomorrow goes.
