I kept waiting until I had time to blog and more time elapsed creating the need for more time to blog...so today instead of trying to update on all that has happened since the last blog- let me share six fun facts about the kids. I plan to do this every Sunday so let's see how this goes. Thank you Sara for the idea! She does Five On Friday but fridays definitely aren't good blogging days for me.
So here we go..
1.Kevin is like a tape recorder. He repeats and adapts everything he hears! For example, earlier this week a scorpion was moving towards the kids. I freaked out! I hate scorpions!! I rely on Daddy Kevin to kill them but he was not around. I put the kids on the couch- the safe zone. I couldn't find a shoe so I drenched the scorpion in hairspray (the closest thing I could find) and then rushed to find a shoe. I repeatedly smashed the scorpion with the shoes. Once I was sure the scorpion was in pieces, I realized that Kevin was laughing- hysterically laughing! He went to his room found a shoe and then starting throwing it while saying "die.die.die....oh Jesus" Yes he thought it was a new game.
2. Savannah is more active. She is rolling from front to back. She's found her feet. She is sitting up better everyday. She is full of smiles! She experienced the pool for the first during memorial weekend. She got her first taste of real food- bananas. She loved them! She follows her brother around the room.
3. Kevin is amazing me with all his phrases/sentences. He is so smart and speaking so clearly! Kevin loves to recycle. His Oma and Sam the Sanitation Bear from Nick Jr taught him well. Any piece of paper, plastic or glass is claimed for the recycle. At Oma's he loves going out to the garage to put things in the recycle bin. Grandma recycles as well. He surprised them by enforcing the recycling guidelines. We are now recycling because of him. We have a box that we take to Oma's as we don't have recycle service.
4. Savannah loves her brother. Her first laugh was because of him. She even gets excited just by seeing his picture. She gets very excited whenever she sees his picture at Oma's house. For now she is ok with Kevin "stealing" her toys. I am looking forward to seeing them play more together.
5. Kevin loves chicken, hotdogs, grapes, pizza and bananas. I have to keep these items hidden unless it's meal time or snack time. It's cute that he now can clearly communicate his desires. He also understands wait. He'll say "May I have chicken, please" and then stand looking at the microwave "1, 2, 3, 4,....ready". He says ready when he hears the microwave chime. I then cut up the chicken (so it'll cool faster) and put it in the fridge a few seconds. " chicken...hooottt, chicken..chicken hot (blows into the air)" then I pull the chicken out of the fridge "Yay!!! Chicken. I eat chicken" yes he loves his chicken :)
6. Kevin is doing very well potty training. He has few accidents. Mostly because we know his cues and his timing, but he is getting better at giving us advance notice. He did so a few times today. I was so proud of him. He annouces each accomplishment with "potty!! yay!" He is also very upset with his accidents. I told him not to get Elmo or Deigo (the characters on his underpants) wet. So he'll say "oh nooo, oh no! Elmo wet. aww man!" It's hard not too laugh at his facial expressions. He is so adorable!
I definitely love my kids. I can't imagine life without them! They're the ones who make me smile every day. It is such an undescrible love.
anyways here are the pictures :)
Savannah with her physical therapist. She gets therapy 2x a month. Natalie is really great with her.
Playing with her feet.Kevin in cousin Mitchell's mask. He sees Mitchell whenever he is at Oma's (2-3x a week) so he is very attached to his cousin. He knows "Mitchell's car" and "Mitchell's room" and this saturday when Mitchell was not at the house he asked "where mitchell go? mitchell missing?" He was very concerned about his absence.

Thanks for the updates .... you should have seen my face while I was reading :-)..they are growing too sweet
