2. Savannah went to the developmental clinic as well. She scored at a 5 month level in all areas. She is now 13.5 lbs. She will go back in November for another follow up visit. The doctor was impressed by her ability to sit up with little support. She is reaching for objects, rolling tummy to back and getting up on her knees. She is doing very well.
3. Kevin as mentioned before is very good at spotting the Best Buy store where his Auntie Michelle works. A little too well- we were near another Best Buy store and he couldn't understand why we weren't going inside the store to see her. "Shell. Shell. Where Shell go?!" I tried to explain that Shell was at home and not work. Several minutes later, he was still asking for Shell so we called her so he could talk to her.
4. Kevin's new word thanks to me is "missing" I didn't realize how often I stand by the front door and go through a mental checklist while saying "hmmm what am I missing?" Well he has of course picked up on this. "My shoe is missing" "Nana is missing" "Toy is missing" lol and it continues. He sounds so cute saying it too. He pointed at the pictures on the fridge "Where Nic? Nic missing?" He says the same for Ale, Noah, and whoever else is pictured on the fridge.
5. Kevin learned about heat the hard way. He found a way to touch a light in the car after being told SEVERAL times not to touch it. I was getting Savannah while he managed to touch it. He now has a blister on his finger. He'll now tell you "Mommy said no. I touch light. Light hurt. Light Hot. Finger hurts" Thankfully it is not bad. He only seems to remember it while we're driving in the car with no distractions.
6. Kevin's bedtime routine is set. I had forgotten to have him kiss Savannah good night. He said "Where's Nana? Kiss Nana nite nite." So I took him to her.He leaned and kissed her check. She smiled so big back at him. "nite. Nana. see you later" He turned and went back the upstairs- now ready for bed. :) He crawled into bed, said his prayers with a loud "amen" and then pulled the blanket up to chest, grabbed his bed and read himself to sleep. I checked on him later to make sure that he had fallen asleep.
Well here are the pictures from this week....some of them anyways.
Kevin asleep at Oma's.
Savannah in the chair at the developmental clinic
Kay holds Kevin in room 16. His original room in the Nicu. A constant reminder of God's faithfulness to our family. I almost got teary eyed seeing him in that room and realizing how far he's come. The staff at the NICU were happy to see him again and were excited to meet Savannah. I am truly grateful to them for their loving care of Kevin. Kevin greeted everyone with hugs and smiles.
