Join Our Team for the March of Dimes

I attended the March of Dimes Kickoff Luncheon today. I will be working alongside the team captains for my company’s team as well as serving as team captain for our family team. The family team will walk alongside the company’s team- we will unite as one big happy team :). I consider a lot of my co-workers to be very good friends so it’s a blending of two teams with one main goal- raise money to help save babies. I am excited to see what we can accomplish together. In case you’re wondering- why two teams?? It’s because I decided to create a family team so that others outside of my job can participate and I would like to donate money under Kevin’s name.

The annual March of Dimes March for Babies walk will be coming to San Antonio on May 8th- my birthday! I know it’s not a normal way to spend your birthday, but I’m excited to be a part of this event. I really hope you can join Team Baby Kevin (still working on a more creative name- any ideas?). The walk will take place at Seaworld. It’s only 3.1 miles- You can do it!! I’m obviously very passionate about the MOD. I have been participating with my company’s team for the previous 4 years but I am aiming to surpass the previous years! I am asking that you consider participating by pledging your support, making a donation, walking with us, recruiting more walkers or donating some items for a garage sale. However you can help would be awesome! The family team’s goal is $1,000. I really believe that to be an attainable goal! I lovingly blame my mom for this optomistic approach towards fundraising. :D

If you choose to donate, here are some amounts to consider:
$5.30- .10 cents for each day that Baby Kevin spent in the NICU (53 days)
$9.93- $3 for each pound of Baby Kevin’s birth weight (3lbs 5 oz at birth)
$16.25- $1 for each inch of Kevin’s birth height (16inches ¼ inches)
$18.58- $2 for each week that Baby Kevin was early (He arrived 9 weeks 2 days early)
$30.71- $1 for each week that Kevin spent in baking on the inside( His gestional age was
30 weeks 5 days)

Lol, feel free to let me know if my math is off. (My excuse is that I typed this up in hurry. I need to go cook dinner for Kevin before I go to church!) You of course can donate whatever monetary amount you choose.

Finally even if you can’t make it, maybe you would like to buy a team t-shirt. I’ll be posting the shirt design and prices later.

Please leave a comment or contact me directly if you would like to walk with us. A lot of families bring their kiddos. I expect for Baby Kevin to be "walking" with us.
